Boadicea Run‎ > ‎

Boadicea 2011

The accounts have all been verified and we are pleased to announce that, with your help, we have raised the magnificent sum of £2170!
This means that we have presented cheques for £1085 each to the Friends of Riverwalk School and the Friends of Priory School. Both these schools do wonderful work and are always appreciative of our support.

Please see below the response from Riverwalk :-

"Dear Jan,                                    14 September 2011

On behalf of all the pupils and staff at Riverwalk I am writing once again to thank all your members for the wonderful donation of £1085.

Our current project is a complete re-design of our playground and the installation of new and exciting equipment. These new pieces of equipment will offer stimulation and inclusion for all but above everything else they will be fun to use.

When the project is finished we plan to have an official opening and we hope that some of your members will be able to attend.

With renewed thanks

Dear Mr Pike                                20 October 2011

I would like to thank you most sincerely for your very generous donation of £1085 from the ICENI MG Club. Your support is most appreciated.

The money will be used to recover 17 of our chiars within the residential department at Priory School.

We will be sending out an invite for members of the club to come into school and view the chairs once the work has been completed.

Many many thanks.

Mrs G Lewis
Head of Care

Sunday 22nd May was the running of the 12th Boadicea Run starting from Ickworth House Nr Bury St.Edmunds by kind permission of The National Trust. The run was of 85 miles around some really lovely parts of the Suffolk Countryside, from the comments we received afterwards we think every one enjoyed themselves and had a fun day out. The list of the cars was very impressive 45 MGs and 58 other makes which read like a list of who's who of the motor Industry. The oldest car on the run was a 1926 25hp Sunbeam entered by Mr.Martin Baglin, we also had a 1937 Rover 14hp saloon owned by Mr Philip Colton both great survivors of another era. The furtherest travelled were Mick & Phil  Rothwell in their  MG TF who travelled down from Over Wyreseale near Lancaster to explore Suffolk, a good effort on their part.

On behalf of our club we would like to thank all our entrants for being such good friendly people and also to our Sponsors and Supporters
and the volunteers who helped on the day, especially our Lady members who worked so hard to prepare and serve the refreshments for the start. Thank you all for a great day.

Here are a few pictures from the day. Click on them for a larger image.
